R56 JCW strut brace

Hi,

Took this off my JCW a few months after fitting it, as decided to sell the car.

It has sat in my garage ever since, but I'm streamlining the garage to get a car into it.

Will give it a polish and take some photos during the week, but thought I'd get an initial post up here first.

Slight rub / light cut mark to the underside, where it must have rubbed on something during its use, but not seen when fitted.

It comes with the correct strut bolts to allow you to fit correctly.

I'm based in Binfield, Berkshire and looking for £100 collected, or plus courier at your cost & arrangement (current car isn't large enough to transport it).

Thanks

Matt

Interested in Pics mate.

Is it a genuine Mini part?

Did you notice any difference after fitting?

Hi Ash,

I can take some pictures tonight, but pre-polish. Its not all that bad to be honest, but I thought I'd give it a quick once over.

Yes, it is the genuine JCW one.

For me, I certainly felt a difference once it had been fitted; although some of the purists would suggest it needs to be a fully solid bar to fully make a difference. Certainly felt to tighten up the front end, specially when accelerating & seemed to reign in some of the torque steer. I think the biggest tell for me, was when I removed it as I traded the car in....the last few drives felt less tight.

Sorry for the rubbish photos, only just got home

And the mark / cut from the rub, hasn't penetrated.

That's quite a big rub mark, has it started to cut into the strut brace then?

Can you provide anymore pictures of the mark?

Thanks

Will take some more this evening. Not the easiest taking photos of a shiny surface but will do my best! Will try and get you an idea of dimensions of it too.

Yes it has a slight cut into it, hence described as rub / cut as couldn't think of a better way to call it. Hasn't gone through, and can't believe given the size of it that it has any effect on the brace & is not visible when fitted.

I can only assume it has rubbed on part of the MAF / Airbox although strangely saw no marks on the car.

Photos make it look significantly worse than it is in reality.

I would say the depth was 0.5-1mm maximum, and you can get an idea as to the overall size from the measure.
