Hi,

I sold my 3.0l Z4 a couple of weeks ago. I have been on the look out for an M Coupe here in Ireland but there is none for sale at the moment. I was thinking of getting an R32 to drive for a few months until hopefully an M Coupe pops up... i have just joined an R32 forum and i feel guilty

Has anyone here ever owned an MK5 R32... if so, what did you think of it, anything i need to watch out for... thanks in advance

I had one before my Z4. I only had it six weeks and sold it, as I was very disappointed in it. They are slow and heavy and apart from thhe great noise I never got on with it. Looks faster than it actually is.

Had an Audi A3 quattro sport with the DSG box about 3 years ago which is the same engine and I think same 4 wheel drive system. Car sounded nice but wasn't that quick. 240bhp I think from memory but the car was and felt very heavy. Excellent traction in rain and snow but much prefer the Zed!!

Drive the R32 back-to-back with the GTi and you will find the R32 feels heavy because as its 200 kilo more with only about 50bhp more and is so only fractionally faster. Although the 4wd is a bonus taking off from wet junctions and more secure on poor surfaces where it's brilliant and would leave a Zed I'm afraid. Very mature and high quality feel but then so is the GTi which is much cheaper to buy and run.

Hi I had one last year. Had DSG version and it had only 12k miles and the Mecatronic unit was replaced and it broke again a week later. Look and sound fast than what they are and i struggled to get 23 MPG out of it driving like miss daisy. My M is more fuel efficient.

Really? What kind of driving as I've seem to get worse mpg than the 3.2 TT and that's the same engine.
