I'm not sure how many of you have seen the news today, but I would like to say R.I.P. to the 5 guys that died in Afghanistan in the Lynx crash. Especially as some of those guys were from my Corps, if you haven't seen it please take some time out of your lives to have a look what has happened. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-27170955

So sorry for the loss of your brothers in arms! It's so sad when people die defending so that we can live our lives at peace, all too often we forget the sacrifice others make so that we can complain and grip about trivial BS while they lay down their life for us. Salute!
 
Gutted to hear that Roy, brings it home the widespread sorrow and pain this sort of thing causes. The last big loss in 2006, the Nimrod that blew up mid -air left 22 kids without a dad. I grew up with those guys.

Sure, there are those who say it's a risk they chose to take, no one forces them to join. Well, thank goodness that they do join up and work damn hard to try to do the right thing to ensure we can live our lives in the way we choose to in the UK.

R.I.P., Lest we forget, I salute them.
 
& of course the pilot & navigator - thoughts go out to all of their family & friends to find the strength to carry on.

Always sad to see this news, especially as I work at the Defence Helicopter Flight School at RAF Shawbury. Probably a good chance the pilots will have been through some of the equipment I have worked on as I think Army start their training with us.

Thanks guys means alot 3 confirmed from my Corps, presumably the two pilots and a crew man, no names have been released as yet. minefields, yeah thats where we go for the first stages hopefully I'll be going through there in a few months.
