Just heard on social media of the passing of another of my heroes, the legendary Rush rock drummer Neil Peart. He succumbed two days ago to brain cancer at the age of 67 after a 3 year battle.
A huge Rush fan since my teens and having seen them live many times I genuinely feel quite shaken.
RIP Neil :( 20200110_225251.jpg

Not usually affected by celebrity deaths but this has totally hit me. Neil has played a massive part in my life. It’s rare a day goes by that I don’t listen to Rush. 2112 cranked up whilst of a spirited roof down drive. Joyous.

Also....he was a z8 owner. RIP The professor.

Definitely the GOAT. The Professor  Just read an obituary on Planet Rock radio website and they used the phrase 'incomparable magnificence'....perfect, just perfect :D

:o :o That’s so sad to read...and so surprising... His retirement wasn’t surprising considering he was having joint problems but I didn’t know he had cancer. Been a Rush fan since I was a kid, end of yet another era..!! :(

RIP Neil, gone way too soon as so many do.

Oh! :( I hadn’t heard this until now, very sad indeed. An extremely talented drummer. Last time I saw Rush in concert was Dublin in 2011 and Neil’s very lengthy drum solo was simply awe inspiring. I shall be playing Rush CDs back to back this weekend now.

First band I ever saw way back April 23rd 1979, Newcastle City Hall, still got my ticket stub....gutted for his family.
Tragedy had followed him throughout his life
