Quick Wheel offset check

Looking to buy another set of alloys as running semi slicks on a daily basis isn't working!

Wheels are 18" x 8.5" et35 front and 18" x 9.5" et20 rear. Was thinking of running 225/40/18 & 255/35/18 but I'm open to tyres sizes. Stock suspension, Eibach springs & CSL geo.

How will they sit in the arches? Anybody forsee any rubbing issues?

I find that willtheyfit.com works really well, you just input your current setup, and then the new one. It will tell you exactly how much poke there will be, and it's also nice that it can tell you if the wheels will sit closer or further from the strut, incase wide wheels force you to use spacers to clear the struts. Anyway, check how many mm of space you have in front and back before rubbing begins. Then see if the new wheel setup will work.. sorry if that's not the answer you're looking for, I'm sure someone else will chime in with experience using the same setup.

They will sit 13mm and 16mm further out than standard 224 M wheels front and rear.

That et 20 will protrude slightly. Rule on thumb go for 35 up front and 25 out back offset wise, this is a pretty good marker in general, the back can go a few points lower and not significantly damage tyre choice.

I take it those semi slick nankangs are trying to kill you in this weather !! They will be ok in summer rain but they simply can't deal with these cold temps.

You got it Beedub. It's all good fun and makes for entertaining driving but it's impossible to make decent progress anywhere. 100% agree with you that it's the temps that are killing their performance. Thankfully we haven't had too much snow. They are absolutely hilarious in the snow!!

I was always going get a second set of wheels for track work anyway so I'm thinking why not. I'd love a set of Apex Arc-8s but there is no way in hell I can justify almost 2k on alloys and tyres to the missus at the moment. So looking like I'm going to have to settle for some Zito CSL reps for now. So...ET20 will protrude a little. Do you think enough to cause any issues or look daft?
