Should it light up? Mine never has but reading some posts it appears it should on the M. Not that bovvered but it's going to the garage tomorrow so i might as well raise it if so...cheers

Perhaps the connector is lose, as it is definately lit up. I took mine off to put on the Storm one, so I no longer have light there :)

Yep, mine was lit before I swapped it for the zhp. You prefer the original knob?

Er you've lost me now, I thought the original knob was zhp? As far as I know my car is standard other than my own additions so I'm guessing it should light up. Tempted by a machined item but not convinced of the wisdom of spending 80 British pounds on such a thing...convince me!

If you have the short, weighted leather knob with the metal collar then you have the ZHP. The original item is about an inch higher, doesn't have a metal collar and is lit of course.

An aftermarket knob makes the shifting so much easier, that is the reasoning behind it :)

Convinced yet?

Easier shifts sound nice and the gearbox is (in my view) one of the most fun things about the M. There's a real satisfaction to be had rev matching a downshift just right or hammering through the gears when you're in a hurry...I'm coming around to the idea PVR. I might have to compare options at the London meet ;)

Nothing like a nice heavy shiny knob :)

Do it! Best mod I ever made to my knob [insert short drum and symbal roll here]

You know what? They told me it was an option and mine didn't have it! Damn it... Oh well I'm pretty set on a stormwerks knob now, they look pretty cool!

Voodoo, wow, that's beautifully finished - I like... hmm... wonder if I could get one with the Pawn? Now there's an idea.

Details please!
