Just wanted to say hello, recently put my honda civic type-R up for sale and now my search begins for a 06-07 plate Z4 2.5. :driving:
Any advice is more than welcome, but am sure theres plenty of info on here already
Thanks John

Hi and welcome to the Forum. There's a pre owned checklist link in my signature which you may find useful in your search. Good luck

Would love to cosider a 3.0ltr but will the rising fuel costs, I`d feel more comfortable with the 2.5ltr,which after a quick bit of research seams to have a better mpg than my honda type-R.

The 3.0 returns very similar MPG to the 2.5 in fact some searching on this forum will show it's a remarkably frugal engine.
If you fancy a 2.5 srhutch's car looks top drawer. I've not seen it in person but people on here speak highly of it.
Good luck in your search. Whatever you find, the E85 is a pukka motor!

Welcome to the forum. Agree with johnbmwboy, the 3 litre will return around 29-35mpg depending on how frugal you want to drive :driving: Something I miss with the M now which is coming in at 25mpg semi spirited

srhutch`s z4 looks just the ticket to be honest but he`s 290+ miles away from me and I have got to free up some cash by selling my daily car. Thank you for the welcomes and advice :D

Hi and welcome John :)
Thanks again for the warm welcome,am still trying to sell my type-R but it has`nt been a full week yet.
Had the usual scammers already trying their luck, will pay full amount by PAYPAL without seeing the car
urm....of course lucky me I shall leave keys under flower pot by my front door also :?
After looking around your forum on info for buying a 2.5ltr my check list soo far is
1.Rear springs fail, comman fault
2.Drainage holes cleaned out for roof
3.Rear brake discs usually need replacing
Anything else i sould add to the list??
Thanks for any advice

3.0ltr will return 30mpg, worth considering
I have considered the 3.0ltr Taz but am more than happy with the 2.5ltr, its only going to be used for work and back as i have an early mk2 golf gti for sunday driving(do`nt judge me :P )

Hello, and welcome to the forum...as u said,u will find it very helpfull

Good luck with your search :driving:
I would add(if u havnt seen this yet)...that the 108 style (18inch)splitrims are prone to corrossion, and take a bit of extra tlc,but they do look v good on the z4's :D :driving:

The 108's do tend to dislike salt/winter weather ,unless u dry them properly when wet/after washing, and give them a good coating of wheel wax every now and then. I had mine refurbed 2yrs ago,and they are 99% as good nick as they were after refurb, whereas they were looking qt scabby from the previous 2 and a half yrs that i had car..but they do look great on the car.

As an alternative, get some cheap 16/17inch alloys for the z,off ebay and fit some winter tyres I did that about a yr or so back, and it also gives u great grip in the snowy weather (end oct to end feb),a bit extra up-front cost, but evens out, given your summer tyres last longer (time-wise),as they aren't being used in Deep Winter. Result
OR u could get the 108's painted,i.e get the outer lip painted rather than machine-polished(more durable).

Hope this helps/and u havnt nodded off,lol :D
