Quick answer on my hunter result??

Right, car is on the ramp and these are the results as it was.

I'm advised to leave it as it is, no adjustment to negative camber as if he straightens them up he says it will be more skittish.

The car is on FK 40mm drop springs. He advises to fix the skittishness, put oem springs back on.

What do you think of leaving the settings like this?

I also notice it wasnt run as an M for the M sport suspension.

Rear toe is out ,sort that and you will notice the difference straight away .

And lowering will still allow it to be corrected? Along with thrust angle?

im no expert on this but are things like toe and camber how the wheel sits on the ground with respect to the car? so really you would want them right even if the car sits lower due to the springs?

having said that the camber is set symetical which may be specific.

if the rear toe is sorted will that sort the thrust out too?
 
I had mine run as an M, with a drop for eibachs. Got them all green.

I see no reason not to get the camber back to spec. now that it's lowered. Before that I would however get him to test it again on the M spring setting, which refers to M sport suspension not ///M
That's what everyone else with a 3.0i has had it done as.
 
Well, not entirely happy and a slight waste of an afternoon.

So they put the car on the hunter and got the current results. Came and spoke to me and said the poor handling and skittishness was due to being lowered and they didnt really want to make any adjustments to the camber as they thought it would make the back end more prone to instability.

They wanted to check the wheels were straight as I have a wobble between 60-80mph.

Fair enough, i said i'd post the current figures on here for feedback.

20mins later the car is parked outside and they call me over to the desk. They confirmed alloys are straight but the front tyres aren't quite true and worn on inside so arent perfectly round. This may be the cause of the wobble and tramlining. I said I wanted the toe and thrust correcting. After some back and forth, basically the slot was now busy so I've agreed to go back after having new tyres fitted when I get the alloys refurbed. (July).

So nothing has changed and I'm £72 lighter, with agreement to correct toe and thrust at a later date.

I'm somewhat tempted to put the sport springs back on and get everything back green :!:

The top of the settings page does state lower suspension, so i assume is the sport suspension setting.

Their reasoning was adjusting the camber back while it is lowered would result in a more skittish ride due to angles of the components being off (lower wishbone etc) and damper preloaded.

Sounds like bullshit to me . Take to proper garage .

Its one of the few in east yorkshire with a hunter system.
 
I'll wait until the revisit and see if they live up to their word of making the adjustments before I name them. I've got a feeling they wont adjust the camber.
 
Rear camber is an easy adjustment. I'd be ok with the front camber like that but that much rear will greatly reduce the life of your tyres.

Try to get the rear camber done along with the toe and you should notice a great difference.

Are you running spacers on the front by any chance?

Also try and find a better garage that has some experience dealing with modified cars or race cars.

I can't recommend any where you are but worth calling about and telling them in advance you have lowering springs.

What you heard is what i'd expect from someone who is only sued to working on standard cars that need correcting.
