Hello all,
Im planning to get a roadster during summer and had a few (no promises here, lol) questions regarding the facelift models (2.5si or 3.0si). This will potentially be my daily driver (work/fun) however we do have backup comfy cars for only the worst of journeys. I live in Dubai so potholes may not be an issue however there are many "rough" roads too.
I have never had anything along the lines of a roadster so its a completely new territory for me but have read alot of stuff on this nice forum.
Now, I currently have a 2003 Alfa Romeo 147 2.0 (on 17s with Dunlop Direzza DZ101) and my first question is that how is the ride quality of a Sport facelift compared to that (RFT and with non-RFT)? I know a Z4 is a sports car but the Alfa I have is no bed of roses either. Im sure someone can provide some insight into that.
Falken 452s seem like a very popular choice here. Its this a "performance" tyre or a "comfort" one? and how long is the tread life, say, compared to my Direzza DZ101? I wouldn't mind a comfort biased tyre. Insane handling is not my priority just want the roadster experience and the Z4 is my number 1 choice. I can go the SE route and avoid the M sport suspension but really really love those M sport seats. Very difficult to get those on SE here.
Lastly, I'm no speed demon, even a 2.5si will suffice (wont overlook a 3.0si though). My question is that how does the 2.5si (stock) sound compared to 3.0si, Boxster 987 and SLK 280. Just curious.
Thanks in advance and for making it till the end of my post. Haha!
