Questions about car lifts

Anybody got any experience of one of these?

Can you safely leave the car elevated on it over winter?
Does it lock at multiple heights?
Been thinking of splashing out on one with the money I've saved not commuting while working from home.

Nice bit of kit assuming those little trailing wheels don’t wreak havoc with your garage floor.

Good point. I've got plastic floor tiles but they're rated to 3.5t so I'd like to think they'd be OK.

Depends on the use you have in mind,
The lift itself could limit access when doing some jobs under the car, but maybe those jobs wouldn't be that often,

For £500 more you can buy a mid ride scissor lift that doesn’t have any frame work in the middle thus giving you much more freedom under a car from Automotech if height is an issue. Or for £1900 they do a mobile single post lift that is based on a pump truck, battery or mains operated.

Hmm, the post lift looks versatile.
I want to be able to remove the wheels and the scissor ones look like you drive onto them so can't take the wheels off.
I'll have to save up some more working from home dosh.
Anyone got any experience of these or have recommendations?

The scissor ones in the bottom picture, you drive over them an they lift on the sill using pads, so wheels do come off,
