Question?? What MOD first for power increase

Okay guys! This is a loaded question I know. I just got my Z4 a couple months back and have been doing all the basic stuff to be sure that it's mechanically sound. I want to do something to mod it now. Give me some advice! What would you guys consider to be the best bang for the buck as a mod to increase horsepower? I was contemplating the air intake. Any thoughts??

Unless you're going to bolt on a super charger just give up now and save your cash. Probably not what you want to hear but it's unfortunately true.

If it's power buy a z4m or Alpina as will be cheaper, but I would just make sure the suspension and bushes can be as good as possible to use the power you have.

Thanks for the honesty. I wasn't trying to make it a crazy fast machine. I just thought maybe an exhaust mod or air intake mod might get me an extra 15 hp or so.

From the guys on here who know much more than me , the consensus is that 10-15 max is available on the M54 engine. Personally I find my 3.0 has more power than I have bottle.

I have a 2006 3.0si and it's already fairly spunky. I guess I'll just do some suspension work on it.

In that case it's an N5x , so have a word with Marlon, as I think he's had his tweeked and he's quite happy with it. Beware though he does like red :poke:

I have a remap , secondary cat delete , and a DLV back box mod ,trust me you can feel the difference . But what made the car feel notably faster is a sprint booster . The car feels like it has much more torque .

I had my last 3.0i remapped just made the throttle response a little crisper but obviously nothing like the gains of turbo or sc or a mapped turbo car but it worked for me👍

Secondary cat delete, remap and that's about it without spending thousands. But don't go expecting the same gains you'd get on a turbo engine!

Does anyone have the specific Sprint Booster part number they have had success with on a 2006 M Roadster?

It's called the sport button, does the same job! And it's free! Seriously I wouldn't waste you're money but, each to their own! It just sharpens the throttle, no quicker in reality.

The sprint booster adds to the sport button . That's when it has the most effect . No more power , just quicker access to it . You can use it without the sport button ,changing the throttle response gradually to highly responsive . On top of the sport button on its highest rating , it pulls you into your seat . If you floor the accelerator in sport mode without it on it feels nice as we all know . With the sprint booster on it has extra force in gearing up feeling far more responsive .

So all it does is change the pedal position for a given throttle position - not sure I see the point in that, less control and still the same power...

It remaps the throttle response so it's instant when set to its highest setting . So a more aggressive adjustable sport button that works on top of your existing one , if you have a sport button . I have an auto so the faster throttle changes the gearing , due to the revs red lining more quickly resulting in a gear change . Some super cars have sport mode then race mode . The Sprint Booster Is a form of race mode . You end up with a more adjustable quicker feeling car . You cant get your power down as quick by just flooring it without out one . Look at the reviews on YouTube . I was sceptical , now I'm not .
