Question on rim / tyre fitment

Hi guys,

Would the following setup fit without any rubbing on my 3.0si Coupe:

17x8 rim with 35 ET from E9x 3 series, with 225-50 R17 tyres

They are taller than stock 225-45 somewhat. I want higher ground clearance for winter for my msport. I figured the rolling diameter is bigger but not that far off what you get with Z4M so arches should take the wheels, right? Or arches on the M are bigger?

Any help appreciated.

PS. While we are on topic, please recommend me a good looking 17in rim for the Coupe!

According to the online calculators you should have little issue .
Speedo at 30mph will read 29mph
Speedo at 60mph will read 58mph
ride height of car raised by 10mm
Arch gap reduced by 10mm

I have 225/45x18 winter tyres which is essentially the same outside size as what you are considering, also on 8" rims, and there are no clearance issues whatsoever. And the speedo is actually dead on according to my GPS with these tyres.

That's good to hear, i have a set of 18inch winters with 45 profile about to hit the "for sale" section .
Do you have any pics of the car with them fitted ?
