Hey guys I've had this question for the longest time! So I think the fastest you can legally go here atleast in Texas Is
65 mph on a freeway or maybe 80 I forget. :P but anyways back on topic. So for instance a freeways speed limit here is 80, why do they make vehicles capable of going waaaaaay past 80mph? If its illegal to go passed 80 why bother making it have more horse if it's a no no? :tumbleweed:

To be honest, I think it's just so cops have something to do haha :roll:
 
Isn't there a section in Texas at 100mph.....

Everyone in Texas that I know drives at 100 ......

In answer to your question...... Because people have the option of going to a racetrack and racing them. Also, with the addiction of the average American male to horsepower, any politician who tried to limit the output would be strung up and buried in the desert.
