Question for the M

This is M specific but not specifically for M owners :P does the M come with the Auto box? Everytime I see a pic of one it has a manual box. :D

What's google? :poke:  if we all used google, what would be the point of having the Forum, oh yes to ask pointless questions to like minded people about the cars we love :fuelfire:

I've seen worse questions posted in the M specific section:

"What's a stubby..."

"Stereo upgrade..."

Both M specific. Of course ;)

Think I read somewhere that the M is a manual. Probably on Google. Or I might just have glanced down whilst changing gear. :D :driving:

What you can do is buy M wheels and M bumpers and fit them to your 3.0i auto. They call it modding on this site for some reason. :poke:
If you aren't able to change gear manually then it's probably best to buy a 3.0si.

Nah only have one arse so wouldnt need to buy a second 3.0 Si which i am sure already comes with the Msport suspension, m seats and i have the m steering wheel too so no need to mod. I like the auto box which doesnt translate to m speak as i cant drive a manual :poke: :poke: Have noticed one thing from this short thread though. The Z4M appears to come with bucket loads of sarchasm :!:  No wonder there is a little section specifically for the M :fuelfire:

There isn't a section for Zeds with Autoboxes which says it all really :poke: a sports car that comes with an auto surely that defeats the object! You need a nice 7 series to slush around in  :)

:o :o Are we now saying that you have to have a manual to be racing? best we get onto F1, Touring cars, WRC :poke: :poke:

The Z4M is apparently more exciting to drive, in part because the engine appears to sometimes implode as you drive ... there are couple of threads on here about that. Not sure if that is a bug or a 'feature', as they say ... you decide.

The N52 3.0si does not seem to have this 'feature', as far as I can tell ... the engine is smooth and refreshingly refined ... and even if you add the M wheels, the M steering wheel, ... it still goes.

Or the new M4. According to:

http://www.torquenews.com/106/2014-bmw-m4-debut-detroit-without-manual-transmission

... the new M4 may not be available in any manual form ... only in an auto. This may have something to do with the supremacy (finally) of the automatic dual-clutch gearbox over the olde manual .. in both speed and fuel consumption. OTOH, Road and Track says the M4 will have a manual, but the M5 and M6 don't ...

You have touched on my favourite subject Krusty  I have put a post up on Pistonheads asking if it will be available with a manual, a Pistonheads article says no but auto express last week said it will?
