Question for computer experts

Nice laptop

I use the AVG free version (not the trial). It was recommended it by the experts and used it ever since on all my machines.

Just keep watching what you tick so you end up with the free version and no chargeable extras

Norton kills. Well most of the available processing time anyway..

I use Microsoft Essential. Free but if it's provided by the guys who write the operating system it kinda makes sense really.

Funny, never happened with me. Norton works fine, unobtrusive, never had an issue with virus, Trojans etc.

Go for this one. http://www.ebuyer.com/525084-hp-250-g1-laptop-h6q67ea-abu

£100 cash back deal too. HP are solid machines and ebuyer are a fantastic retailer. free delivery as well

Also security essentials has been upgraded to windows defender in windows 8 and although it used to be one of the best free AV products it is now regarded as being one of the worst. Even though it is built by Microsoft it has a number of holes. personally I would recommend kaspersky and it is less than 20 quid...usually for three licences so you can do the desktop as well if you have one.
Norton is nowhere near as bad on system resources as it used to be and is regarded as one of the less resource hogging antivirus products now days.

Cheers mate but new laptop has landed 8)

Another shout for AVG on the antivirus. Stable, discreet (although you will notice the slowdown if you let it run a scan whilst working) and haven't had any problems with the pc's it's been on. And my OH has a habit of clicking links to dodgy websites by mistake...
