£1227.58 + VAT to fit one of these Quaife LSD's to my Roadster.....

.... it's going to be good (judging by everything I've read).... but is it worth it, considering how much it costs?!?!

:driving:

opinions please, on 'bang for buck'

I'd say yes, if you're keeping the roadster for a while, and definitely if you are going to track the car

It's the track that's got me thinking about it :-)

Took it to Bedford the other week and really notice the deficiencies of the open diff!

but let's face it I use it as my daily driver and will hardly be on the track.... am I just being a tart? It's a lot of money for an occasional track hooning device :-)
Do you have one?

Z4-itis, the disease. Uncontrollable urge to modify your Z4 :)

There is no known cure. Several forum members suffer it

Well it's the only thing that Alpina should have done, in my opinion!

Wish they had done it 'cos it's friggin expensive!

The disease is also highly contagious... :D

Totally agree Andy, the car should have had an LSD -I've also been looking in the past, but its taken a back seat for a while (garage and front end respray to finance). Quaife looks good, as does Drexler although I've heard the Drexler is more suited to track, and Quaife to everyday use.

If you do go for it, make sure that you take plenty of pics!

Like the idea of the Quaife being non wearing (and lifetime warranty) as it's geared rather than clutched.

Although I'm not sure what the advantages/disadvantages are of each type?

Thanks Mark, had a skim through..
BTW if I do go for it, at the moment I'm unlikely to DIY, due to lack of required bearing pullers and press... I'd probably get stuck with it on a lift and it'd be out of action for days!!
Having said that it's a lot cheaper to DIY.
