Quadcopter. Anyone got one?

Sadly I am in the land of god awful accents, among other things, otherwise known as Birmingham until Thursday :(

The 350 pro looks like a great machine for the price - do you have any recommendations for suppliers?

Watch it mate, I'm originally from Brum (or close by anyway). There is a Birmingham mafia on this forum, and we know where you live! :D

I studied/lived in Brum for 5 years learning how to drink, not to drink, hot to court and how not to court ... Oh and how to do my job, am I allowed to comment on the accent ? :-p (and I'm a Lancashire lad so get picked on down here)

Dr J ... I got the 350 from Banggood (big wholesale company. It took 2-3 weeks for delivery, most people don't get stung on import tax apparently but I did - but still worked out cheaper than anywhere. If you register you also end up with a discount code that you can use on your first order. I got the basic package with the entry level transmitter / controller and without the fancy electric camera gimble as I'm sure the price could escalate quickly if you kept looking at extras. That said, I'm sure ol end up with the gimble and maybe even their own version of a gopro (only about 70 quid) called the ilook. Buying the add ons later doesn't seem to me like I'm spending as much :-) ha!

Back on topic...

Are there any of these RC toys with iphone/ipad integration? I'd love to strap my iphone to it and stream the vid to my ipad... i know there's one that you can control with your iphone but really... spying on my neighbours in central london is very appealing. There's some weird s*** that happens around here and i could finally get some answers! :rofl:
 
Arrived today. Charged and ready to play tomorrow. Very windy in the garden tonight for a first attempt.

My pal has an rv parrot or something similar. It's controlled by ipad and streams live video. Costs about £200

I don't get the point of these things :? They go up in the air and then what? lol You film something? The neighbour?

I've got a helicopter but got bored of it pretty fast although I wouldn't mind getting into RC model aircraft.

I don't really use mine for filming. I can be a geek in my own company, and the thing fascinates me to watch, endlessly. Tend to fly it like a plane most of the time, dodging trees and seeing how fast I can get it in our fields.
 
Had the little one for a while now, bought a bigger and more stable version for what I intended. I have a little idea related to corporate websites and aerial photos. If it comes together then it should be a little retirement income.

Yep, I can estate agents hiring people to do videos of properties. A good little sideline or hobby if you can get your local agents interested
