I used the exact same method on mine with great results. I chose to go with single spots, i personally think they look 'cleaner' and less fussy but i think i'm the only person who has them. Also meant i had to rewiere the reversing light.

that does look cleaner actually with only 2 spots, although what do you do about the reverse light ?

Basically i wired up one of these to the reversing light terminal then stuck it to the side of an indicator bulb (inside the clear spot) using high temperature silicone. Just as bright as the standard bulb, totally invisible when off and doesnt throw a warning light. Feel free to ask any questions if you go this route. :)

Yep like the Vreds...... but I´ve always liked them on previous cars as they are great in the wet..

like those rear lights mate ... look forward to seeing them .. Job well done.

I will be doing this tomorrow, and was wondering how to remove the french fry from the old lights and then reapply to the new ones? Thanks :D

Nosa, excellent work

Good write up too. Nice to see you devoting your time to the execution of mods rather than plotting theft of others' :P

The french fries are attached with double sided adhesive tape and there are also 2 small locating pins on on each, I used dental floss to cut through as much of the tape as I could then used a sharp knife to slide between frie and light to cut and lever off, Try not to break the locating pins , go easy and have patence.
Just get some new tape and cut to shape after cleaning all the old gunk off, Jobs a good un

Cheers, No good plotting anymore.. your all on to me

One further thing,
After doing this the finish was a bit matte looking and slighty rough to the touch, Using some Megs intensive polish and a medium pad on a rotary polisher it wasn't long before it started to even out and have a bit more sheen to it, then went over it with some finishing polish and soft pad. Still not perfect yet but will be having another go at some point soon.

My lights are drying with the tint on them, will spray the clear tomorrow and post some pics! So far everything has been great thanks to Nosa and the other form link!

I have been trying with red window tint, has anyone been successful using window tint?

I have tried to buy the red spray tint off ebay twice (2 different sellers) and both times received the same message about 2 weeks later:

Thank you for your email, we have had your order returned back to us by royal mail stating that we are not allowed to ship to your location as it may explode in transit - we are very for this unknown issue.

And it seems red spray tint is not available in Australia (at least not in any paint or hardware store i have called)

So if anyone knows how to apply tint to curvy lights, or where i may get some spray tint, some advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I wasn't too impressed by the red tint spray price or having to buy it off ebay. So, I bought and used Testor "Candy Apple Red" spray paint. You can order it off ebay as well or go to any Hobby/Crafts store that sells models and you can buy it there. If works really well, I think it looks just like the tint spray. People use it to tint lights all the time. Here is a link to it:

I bought mine from AC Moore here is the US, and it was 5.99 USD a can. I will post the pics tomorrow when it dries. I did six coats and only used one can to do both lights.
