Quad exhaust on 2006 3.0si ?

I am really craving a quad exhaust on my 3.0si. Mainly just for aesthetics, so i was looking at the quad exhaust systems that just add on the extra side (without having to adjust the battery position/etc)
for example; http://www.beastpower.com/p/bmw/supersprint-quad/SUP-981406

As long as performance doesn't DECREASE, I'll be happy with any system, any gains would be an added bonus... (but i'm under the assumption that the 3.0si has already been fairly stretched to milk out those last HP gains).

But $3,445 (+probably $700 in freight to Australia) would seem a little excessive for an extra exhaust which technically does nothing for performance.

Any other viable options? Australia is HORRIBLE for sourcing z4 parts locally.

At the price, would it not be less expensive to have a custom exhaust garage to make one up for you? I had a cat back system done last year for my 5 series (for aesthetics) - cost me less than £500... :D

That exhaust looks awful.
It'll probably decrease performance with the extra weight you''d be carrying. Don't do it.

I'd agree that does not look good those bends can't be doing gas flow any good what so ever.

I'd go with Mr Lozzers Idea and see if I could get one custom made, check out the Official Quad Exhuast thread pg5 http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=28955&start=60 and see a triple pass silencer that several of us have made and fitted to our zeds here in the UK. It sounds a little deeper than stock but no louder and seems to have allowed mine to rev a little bit more freely (04 2.5SE) but Aquazi had one fitted to his 3.0Si yesterday.

What about the eisenmann quads? Less expensive and looks good...

about 1.450 euros on ebay

If you really want it cheap: consider fox...

Best would be to combine with 200 cells sportkats (about 400 euros per piece, including install)
