They didn't want to interrupt you ;)

hehe, just playin with ya!

In the early days we got spam registrations, not so much now. There are some that register but never confirm the registration, but they dont appear on the list. Quite why people register and never post is a mystery.

I think there are many people across all forums who read almost every post but don't often post themselves. I suppose I read other forums occasionally and never post, done it on quite a few of them.

Yeah, I always wonder why they register... maybe I should send them all an email and ask? :D

I can understand it on some forums where you are limited in what you do without being logged in, but that doesn't happen here, apart from having the ads.

Maybe someone who has registered but never posts will read this and then let us know why

I am registered on another forum that I have never posted on and the reason I registered was so that when I would return I would see the post that had activity since my last visit. No reason other than that.

That's just the way it works - only 5 or 10% of any group are active. One big reason, and this isn't a dig as it happens everywhere, is that a lot of what's posted is just idle chatter. But trust me, you don't want to be on a group with a high percentage of posters - it can be a full time job just keeping up. One forum I belong to gets over 1000 messages a day.

As long as you are registered you can get e-mails on a specific thread with out even posting in that thread by clicking the, Subscribe topic, at the bottom of any thread.

Lets say 20Ducks is getting beat-up by phildz4 and 2dogs and you choose to not get envolved ( like that would happen, not get envolved ) and you just want to recieve an e-mail when the thread gets posted in ( so you can watch the fireworks ) it works well. You do need to be registered to use that function.

I think the list of posters for this thread answers the question. The vast majority of posts on this forum (and on
others I might add) are from no more than 10 members, who obviously know each other and enjoy trading barbs
and inside jokes. So even though it makes for funny reading for outsiders like me I find very little interest in
adding to this post mania just for the sake of it.

I keep to the technical issue, which are the issues I relate best with the other members.

Cheers.

I wish I could post at work. Unfortunatly the last time I tried that I got reported.
