PY24W Front Indicators to LED

Hi All,

Searched the forum and amazingly I can't find reference to P24W or PY24W !

Anyway - I know lots of us have upgraded our angel eyes to LEDs but has anyone done their front indicators - partially to lose the 'fried-egg look' and partially to make them match the sides and rears that are LEDs.

If so, does anyone have any experience with a particular LED bulb - thinking here the likes of making sure warning lights don't come on etc.

Any advice appreciated as there's lots of choice on fleabay but then it's pot-luck what you get from China most of the time ...

Mine have been LED for years. Generic stuff from eBay.

I didn’t have the bulb test coded out so I get a fancy flickering light display on startup but I’d rather know if they’d blown and it’s never caused an issue.

mine are the same as Manic's generic from ebay, work great, ok so when it does a bulb test the flash for a split second but it hardly noticeable, and the look better than the standard lamps do at a fraction of the cost.

Dragging up an old thread, but strangely the indicator bulb replacement is not really covered in the forum. :lol:

I just replaced mine, to avoid the “yolk”/orange look. Went for a fairly cheap kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253141821780 and fitted it without too much bother. No Canbus error. A little tip: It is difficult to get much purchase on the bulbholder so took a small length of a wooden rod, cut a narrow slit in the end and it was very easy to turn it.

I swapped mine out for LED bulbs too. Don’t do what I did and snap the grip on the bulb holder. Didn’t realise it’s not a screw-in but more of a half-turn to lock it in place. Just needed a good yank to get the thing out.

I like the oem lamps, the indicator is really bright and clear, not seen the LED ones but the leds I have seen tend to be a lot less visible, can we see a video from someone with led indicators fitted???

Hiya

Fitted these last week. They work very well, easy to fit (5 mins) and now it's an instant blink like the rears. Sorta ties it all together.
