Hi ladies and gents.
I am in the unfortunate situation that I have a punctured front tyre. I noticed it when I went to drive the car yesterday after pulling out of my driveway.
As the tyre has barely been driven on I am hoping it can be repaired, BUT the weight of the car has likely been sat on the deflated tyre for a few days although I couldn't say for sure as the car is kept in my garage when not in use. If the sidewall is damaged because of this then I will need a new tyre
I have recently put Michelin PS on the rears (400 miles ago) and had not budgeted to change out the fronts quite this soon which leaves me in a dilemma... :headbang:
Let's assume I need a new tyre for a moment, I can either
1. Put a new continental M3 on the punctured rim (which will match the other side of the front axle). This is the cheapest immediate option but has the drawback of then having a 15000 mile tyre on one side, and a new one on the other side, with Michelins on the back. Cost is about £165.
2. Put two new tyres on the front axle which don't match the rear:
Maybe Sessantas and then when the rear Michelins are worn out put Sessantas on the back.
Maybe Toyo T1R and then when the rear Michelins are worn out put a pair of T1R on the back to match.
Cost for these two options is about £250.
3. Put two new Michelins on the front (really expensive option costing about £450) when I didn't want to spend that on the car this month and haven't budgeted accordingly.
Bugger!
I have read positive comments about the Vredestein Sessantas.
So, what are the Toyo's like on the Z4M? Anyone know? I have had them on an Integra R and they were ok, but not a lot of steering 'turn in' feel unfortunately as the Integra needs stiff sidewalls due to its low weight.
Wet grip isn't so important to me as I use the car in the dry mostly anyway...
Anyway, all your advice is welcome!
