Puncture sealant

I have recently had need to add some puncture sealant to my mobility scooter, and whilst I wait (patiently) for the manufacturer to reply with their recommendation I thought I would share a yarn with you.

I bought some a few months ago to put in to a new inner tube. I could not buy off the website and it had to be done on the phone. That is fine, however, I had a ten minute 'lecture' on why their product was the best out there. Bearing in mind I had made my choice, I just wanted the stuff. I was slightly bemused by the experience, it was all rather overwhelming considering what I was buying.

Today I wanted to buy some more. I could not remember the name of the company but Google came to the rescue. The same rubbish website and another phone call. However, it soon became clear that it was a different supplier and guess what, another 'lecture' on why their product is the best etc.

Do puncture sealant companies all have the same set up? A rubbish website that you can not buy from and a 'lecture' when you call them?

So whilst I wait, do you use any particular companies stuff? I have Air-Seal Products in one tyre at the moment!

I used this in my motorbike tyres for my European trips.
Not the cheapest but never had a problem.
Despite urban myths it did not effect the handling at any speed.
When it was time to change tyres I warned the tyre fitters and they just jet washed it out.

+1 for ultraseal. Used in all my motorbikes for the last 15 years with no issues.

Some call it snake oil, some say it works .... I know from my own experience that it has worked for me.

The tyre fitters have never had an issue with it, indeed some even recommend it. When I asked about their issues they told me that it was the spray-in-when-flat types that they hated.

It will be in my next set of bike tyres......... not so sure it's worth it on a Z with run-flats, but without run-flats and with no spare, I'd certainly give it a go.

+1 ultraseal.

Never affected the handling of my motorbikes. Never caused an issue with the tyre fitters, and (for me at least) has saved me from many flat tyres..... the punctures were there, but 'ultrasealed'
