Puckering windshiled cowling.

While cleaning my 2005 Z4 (a garage queen with 16K miles) yesterday in the the SoFL heat (not really hot yet, but about 82 degrees), I noticed that the plastic cowling that sits over the bottom of the windshield was buckling. That is, it was puckering up off the windshield at about 4-5 different spots; otherwise, it was flush with the windshield. However, that night, all was flush. Anyone notice this on their cars? Think it is a defect worth taking to the dealer (I'm still under warranty)?

had mine replaced under warranty when the delaer had to remove to get to wiper mech. It didnt sit right when replaced so dealer replaced.

Think they get a bit brittle over time.

Have you tried warming it with a hairdrier? Mine does the same but only since the windscreen was replaced and the wipers removed.

Don't think there is any needed to warm cowling. It went back to its its original shape that night. Perhaps, and most the casue was the following: Car out in the sun. Warms windshield and the cowling. Start washing with cooler water. Heated windshield and cowling respond differently to the cold water, thin cowling puckers and thick windshield doesn't change??? I think I'm on to something of an explanation, but someone with a physics background could probably verify the concept???
