Hi all-I was lucky enough to get a PS4 from santa :) -its just that my better half was told she would be better off buying a Sony account? for £30 (I don't think account is the right word :oops: ) but looking on line I have read that PSN is free?-so what were we going to be charged £30 notes for?-thanks, and I hope you all had a nice xmas. :)
 
Psn is like xbox live. You get a 30 day trial of psn but you have to pay a yearly fee of £30 I think
 
I don't have one yet but I've just found out that you now need to buy the subscription to play online like you do with the xbox wheras you didn't need the paid account on ps3, annoyed with that tbh but there are other benefits to the paid subscription.

I have a ps3 and ps4. And tbh for £30 annually its worth it for the benefits it gives. I believe the xbox live gold is £90 annually.

The thing which bugs me is not making it backwards compatible like they did when the ps3 first came out so i need to keep my ps3 just for gtaV!

The new version of gtaV is meant to be out middle of next yr for the next gen consoles though... But pretty sure i'd be done with it by then.

+1. Though speaking to a well gened manager at a well known games retailer, I was told there are rumours that something could come out on the next gen consoles based on the GTA V platform.

Timeframes ........ who knows but hope thats more than just a rumour.

i think sony charge to go online now to give better protection from hackers , a couple of years ago the hackers were able to get into people`s personal accounts and get bank details and stuff
,and sony had to shut the online service down for a while.so its a pain that you now pay but you will get a better service. :thumbsup:

That's a bugger, mine's just auto renewed at £39.99. Are Micro$oft becoming like the bloody insurance companies, cheaper to shop around? :thumbsdown:
 
Can't believe you have to pay to play online, it will be interesting to see if valve follow suit with the release of the steam box and if they don't how will Microsoft and Sony react.
 
Spent Christmas Eve. with our wonderful German neighbors, Whom happen to have a PS4. I was having a go at need for speed when out of the blue, without me having said a thing. My wife suddenly belts out the following. "DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT" :o I suppose after 29 yrs of being married, She knows me too well.

Should of got here Stu only £27.90 and they email you the code almost straight away. I never pay more than £30 and that's usually for 13 months.
Make sure you switch of auto renew for next year.

It's worth the money you get free games every month on all the playstation platforms. You also get discounts on a lot of the digital content.
