Seems like yesterday, 6 yrs ago when I dropped him off to his Military College, at the hotel, he could not sleep the entire night before, he was apparently so nervous. I vividly recall the father & son talk and walk around the hotel premises at 3:00 a.m. in the morning…
Anyways, just last weekend, my boy just got back from Oklahoma City, for some Military Risk Management Training. He was mentioning to me of how green and flat the City was, and how driving the roads there requires some getting used to….In January 2009, he will be off again, training and schooling with the Army Corps of Engineers somewhere in Missouri. Rumor has it, that after Missouri, he will be presented with possible orders for deployment and duty in Afghanistan. If this becomes imminent, there is no doubt that I think this time I will be the one who will be nervous and sleepless……
