Also discovered the 6CD drive is fine just needs some 'encouraging' to come out of its dock.
 
Belated welcome! Lovely car there. Do you have the iPod wire in the glovebox? I could be wrong here but I think when you have iPod integration, it's either that or the 6CD. Or you can probably get some fancy parrot-dice-gap-bridge-box thing that might let you do both... Thinking about changing my whippy recently. Where are you based?

Thanks stevo. No I don't have the iPod integration cable, just an auxiliary in under the dash. From what I've read I agree that you can only have one or the other standard (6CD or iPod integration). The parrot solution seems reasonable. I'm still enjoying the soundtrack from the engine so not in a rush to install anything.
