Proud new owner of this...

Hello all. I'm now the proud owner of an Interlagos Blue Z4M coupe and thought I would introduce myself.

So I picked this up a couple of days ago...

They're the pictures from the sale advert, haven't taken any of my own yet - so more pictures to follow.

It has 2 previous owners and 58k miles on the clock. It had a service and inspection at BMW before I bought it - the only thing they could find to fault was that the tyre sealant tube was out of date!

I drove it back from Edinburgh, part of my journey was through Northumberland National Park on the A68 - what a drive!

Here's a list of things I would like to do, any advice would be welcome:

1) Wheels - Options are - sell the current wheels to purchase some CSL wheels. Or powdercoat the current wheels - gun metal grey or maybe satin black. What wheels do people have on their Interlagos Blue Z4Ms?

2) Intake - I definitely understand why people go down this route. The noise is a little underwhelming. I think in my budget its either the Eventuri or the Gruppe M. From what I can tell the Gruppe M sounds better but the Eventuri is cheaper.

3) Suspension - I had Bilstein coilovers on my previous car which was an S2000, transformed the feel of the car for the better - also think a little bit of drop would really suit the car

4) Exhaust - If the intake doesn't satisfy my ears, I'm considering an exhaust or maybe an exhaust mod. I've seen some posts about a remote controlled valve that can be fitted to the standard exhaust - gives it a lovely exhaust tone!

That's the big stuff (for now anyway!). I'm also considering getting it detailed - a few swirl marks which are annoying me.

I do like the look of the stubby aerial rather than the standard one - where can I get one of these from?

Great choice even if I do say so myself. I have just changed my 224's to a smoked grey and I love it.

Also have an Eventuri which gives a nice sound lift at around 3k revs, but not to aggressive. I believe the gruppe is louder. As it's an intake, it's make very little difference to the sound when cruising. Can't speak for any exhausts mods (sure some will ppp along soon with advice) but I would probably go either / or and not both.

Enjoy the car and welcome!

Looks superb. Clearly some one with fine taste. 8)

Apart from the stubby that is.

Evening!

Congratulations on this. Funnily enough, we both have the same old car - S2000 - and I've also picked up a Z4MC which was ALSO located in Edinburgh! Small world! ALSO ALSO ALSO have the CSLs, and YES. Do it. You must.

Photos of mine are on this forum and the gallery one also, though a different blue. Like your gunmetal alloys on this. Let me know if you're in the Berkshire/Bucks area and we can 'compare notes'. :-)

Very nice and IMO one of the best colours

Gruppe M sounds awesome on the M having heard it in the flesh at the weekend.

Enjoy it!

Haha!
There seem to be so many in Edinburgh - when I was looking I saw a few nice examples located up there.
I miss the S2000 gearbox a little - how do you find they compare?

Oh by the way I'm in Leeds, bit of a trek down to Berkshire unfortunately.
Any northerners on here?

Sheffield here, look out for a turnpike meet at saddleworth, or the next one at Chatsworth if you don't mind the drive

That looks very nice! Did you have them powder coated?
Where did you get your stubby aerial from?

The wheels came courtesy of MrWilks, they have a real smooth finish. He got them done in Leyland, so not a million miles from Leeds. I am based in Huddersfield myself.

Will try and find the link for the Stubby.
