Prospective owner

Currently looking for a Z4 so thought it wise to join.

Torn between models; one minute I only want a straight six, the next I'd love to try the 8-speed auto. Then there's the 7 speed DCT.
Decisions, decisions.

Welcome to the forum, there's no shortage of Zed enthusiasts here and they will be eager to suggest the best engines / models :)
Seriously though, you've come to the right place - its a great source of information

Hi and welcome
Give the folks here a clue on you're budget and any other relevant must have,ie is fuel economy an issue, will it be a daily driver.
You may get a few suggestions
Or at least people telling you why their car model is the best

Hi, if you say where you're from you might get an offer of a passenger ride/look round a car if it help you decide
Ps, the 2litre turbos are very underrated

Are you on commission from BMW Smartbear? :D

Thanks all!

Budget-wise, whatever I get for this: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/gt-86/toyota-gt86/6768247 plus up to £3,000 max - maybe £15,000-ish. MPG? Not too important. After running a TVR Griffith and 350Z daily nothing's likely to be too shocking.
It's to be my 'daily driver' c. 12,000 miles p.a.
I'm looking for a refined GT rather than a planted rocket, definitely not a manual - pretty sure I'd be happy with a 23i but willing to try the 4 pot turbos and 35i DCT. Not keen on silver/grey/white nor red or biscuit leather. Sports seats only.
Anyone near to Chipping Sodbury/Bath/Bristol can offer local advice, I'm all ears.

[post]1384292[/post] Liking the look of this one: click, but the seller has a few poor reviews... scratching chin.

That Z4 looks great!

Have you read the reviews - there are only 5 altogether, 2 are 5 star and one is 4 stars. The other two are both 1 star, but from the same person! From what I can make out it looks like he sent a deposit by Paypal over the Xmas period when the seller was closed, so they didn't/couldn't reply to tell him the car had been sold until they re-opened.

Based on that I think I'd take a chance make my own mind up - but I realise they are a fair distance away from you.

Good luck anyway.

Do NOT buy from Auto100. I've had first hand experience and would advise against buying any car from this company - if you don't believe me search for reviews online. I travelled (from Surrey) to go view a white 35is before I bought mine. They were a nightmare to deal with from being told the car had all prep work done (it hadn't - very poor condition up close) to finding an £1500 BMW estimate for the blown exhaust hidden under the passenger seat.

Loads of other little things like only one key available, lack of care that service stamps were missing and very much a take or leave it attitude. If you go to their 'showroom / site' you will see what I mean. Portable jump starters being handed around by the sales team and keen to do a "special one off deal because it's the end of my quarter."

Test drove 30i and 20i today. Loved the 30i, but colours not right. 20i a disappointment. Good colours but no idrive and felt a bit gutless.
Might still go for the first one, and pretty sure it's the 3 litre I want.
The search continues...
