Hi all, I recently had to sell my beloved 2.8 Z3 due to family circumstances (wife's sister moving in with 3 kids!!). I was able to use the situation to scratch an E46 sport touring itch I've had for a while, and while I ike it very much, it just doesnt feel *special*. At some point next year they should be moving out again, and it'll just be me and the mrs again.
Soooo... I've long drooled over the Z4 Coupe, and I've been perusing the site for a while, so i thought i'd join as a way of making it not seem like a pipe dream.
Ive seen a few threads on prices, and i know it can be a touchy subject, but is it my imagination that the coupes seem a little more expensive than comparable roadsters? that seems counter intuitive, but i guess there are a lot more roadsters around than coupes.
Anyway, looks like a great site - i'm a member over at zroadster.net, and its always great to find a genuinely useful, fun forum (with fantastic pictures of stunning cars)

Welcome along- the coupe is often more expensive as there are, as you say less of them- have a search for alanj's buyers guide- great info for your search. Generally these cars are trouble free in most cases.

Welcome

have you seen - http://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=53564

Thanks, yeah i've looked at a few adverts but If I DO manage to buy it wont be for a while yet. I live in East London and park on the road, so insurance on 1 car with with 7 years no claims is prohibitive enough without adding another - thats why I had to sell the Z3. I need to shed a sister in law, 2 teenagers and a toddler before I can seriously consider a purchase.
Alternatively I could move out of London, but as the wife pointed out thats pretty drastic just to be able to own the car you want. On the plus side, she has been making noises about missing the zed, so when the time comes she may well be amenable to going 2 seats again....

Welcome.

Loving your Z3. 8)

Probably one of the best looking Z3's I've seen. :)

Good luck with your plans.

Thanks bud. Next time anyone's moaning about depreciation, think of this - with less than 70K on the clock all I could get for her was ÂŁ2500!

Ouch! :o

Think I'd have paid more from what I can see in the photo. Not much help now I appreciate!

Did look very tidy.

Where those Alpina rims??

Alpina replicas, put on by the previous owner. Got a lot of compliments on those, and I never saw another Z3 with them, so nice to be a bit different

Don't think I've seen a nicer one to be honest!

Colour and wheels really made it look lovely.

Hopefully you'll get a nice Z4 at some point to ease the pain! :driving:

Cheers.

Hi welcome along good luck with your hunt for a coupe:D

Cheers - hunt wont start for a while yet, but im enjoying investigating specs! I like the look of extended saddle brown leather, but that looks to be a little rare!
On the plus side Ive discovered-oddly- that insurance for a 3.0 coupe would be cheaper than for my 2002 325 touring. Cant make head nor tail of that, but it's one concern out of the way!

Welcome along. If your z4 when you get one looks as good as the z3 then we should be seeing plenty of good pics from you! :driving:

I had a Z3.....in Alantic blue and i loved her
But now its all about the Z4 and i love it more, you will too when u get ur coupe, go with silver or red
BTW welcome to the best Z4/BMW forum in the world

I see you've had an Essex meet up - I might ask to come along to one of those to have a better look at a selection of different cars and specs. I really like the shape of a Coupe, and if Im honest open top driving didnt always work for me (i was always driving with the sun in my eyes!) but the difference in cost might mean a roadster for me.

Hello and good luck with your hunt for your Z4 coupe.

I've had mine for 9 months and there seems to be more coupes on the market than when I bought mine so there is
more choice and the prices have dropped too.

It's my only car and running costs aren't too bad and I love driving it.

Find the right one and you not be disappointed

I got my coupé at the end of June....my first Z (and BMW) and I couldn't be happier. Absolutely love the car, a beautiful shape and addictive noise.

You'll get all the help you require on this board, so welcome and I look forward to seeing your search progress. :driving:

Nice motor and great pic. :)

Welcome to the forum, its a great place. Im new here myself, everyone is extremely friendly and more that willing to share helpful advice.

 :Z4 forum:

Good luck on the search for your new Zed, hopefully wont be too long until we get some more pic's up.

Thanks for the z3 appreciation, although it does make me all the sadder that shes gone!

My previous car was a '68 VW karmann ghia that i looooved. Used it as my wedding car. But i lost that under duress too (deposit for house) :(
