Prospective Owner - Questions!

Hi all I am in the process of buying a 2005 Z4 2.0 and was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions.

I have an OBDII Bluetooth adaptor - will this work in the Z4?

also I would be looking to upgrade the headlights asap. firstly for the look and secondly due to there being slight condensation in the unit.
would these be appropriate or are there any other alternatives? link to ebay

I can't answer with total confidence, don't put too much stock in my answers, but for what they're worth...

OBDII is a standard interface, so your adapter should work with any car so equipped, including Z4s. However, it is an extensible standard, so the capability of the device at the other end may be limited to the basic protocols defined in the standard. Manufacturer specific extension support is highly variable.

The housing you linked to will only work in halogen headlight Z4s, not in xenon equipped cars. The easiest way to identify a halogen equipped Zed is the presence of a headlight level adjust wheel near the headlight switch. Which, BTW, will no longer work if you use this housing.

Some on here have already purchsed the headlights you show from E Bay (or similar) - reasonavle write up but having seen them in the flesh not so sure about the quality.

thanks for the welcome guys. paid a deposit yesterday and hopefully pickup on saturday

the lights are definitely halogens so might try those new ones on it. not wanting to get too ahead of myself tho - havent even got it yet lol

p.s AlanJ your pre-purchase checks were invaluable. had forgot to print it off when going to view the car but had remembered most of them from reading it before!

"Jimmypop" and "Nosa" both have those headlights, good units, but can fog up a little

Mine look like they might have sprung a leak though other one's mint and personally I love the look.

I had trouble on my previous car with lights filling with water so well versed in sealing them properly now.
