The cover on the passenger side cup holder in my car has been broken for quite some time - the little legs that clip into the holes snapped off. After many attempts at gluing, I resolved to double-side tape it.
This was... super crap and when my father (bless his heart) went to close it, for some reason he decided to tug on it a bit and that was the last straw.
I MUST FIX THIS!
I had a brainwave this evening and thought - why cant I just put some screws in there to replace the legs? And so I did.
Another one ticked off the list!
I should add the the surface on my cover was super gunky when I got the car and I had sanded it down to bare plastic with a wrap over it for a while now (so this might not be appropriate for you as a fix if you want to keep your outer surface original).
Pics below:
Finding appropriate screw heads that slot in

Fine tuning the angles and length

Test fit after grinding down the screw tips (else there be a nasty surprise for my wife when she's putting her cuppa there!)

Alcantara wrap...
