When I bought my Sdrive35i (manual gearbox) she had new Bridgestone tires from the BMW dealer and ~12k miles on the clock. Mycar looks like the Z4 at the top of the forum webpage. First, I didn't care for the ultra low profile look. Then I read there was a lawsuit about these 19" wheels failing. Well, sure! Tiny rubberband tires on LA roads and the thing rides like a rock with factory recommended high pressure.
So, after much research I came up with the lightest and most comfortable high performance tires I could find. Installed Continental Extreme Contact DW tires 245/35 front and 275/35 rear. Not only does the car look better and more aggressive, but it now rides with the smoothness of my SL Mercedes. Gone are the jarring impacts and most of the creaks one hears with the hardtop up. So smooth!!!!
Pushed into a turn the car grips that much better with these fatter tires!
It's a win-win all the way around! I can't recommend this tire swap enough. I ditched my brand new OEM tires for these and couldn't be happier!
