ProjectorZ4 Headlights?

Hey,

So, do any of you fellows have any experience with the ProjectorZ4 aftermarket headlights? I've seen variations of these pop up here and there online, and it turns out that I need to grab myself a set of new headlights. OEM is most likely out of the picture, with each headlight costing about $1200 over here.

I have a couple of questions:

Have is the quality? Anything remotely similar to genuine headlights?

My car doesn't have Xenon. Is a xenon retrofit using these possible or should I not even bother looking into that?

Any comment would be appreciated! :)

I have a pair with self levelling motors built in to which I rigged some HIDs (ebay £400)

Build quality looks a bit cheap but seems to be holding up well - had them over 8 months.
Had condensation but that was due to HIDs but siliconed the caps and now fine

 
I looked into getting a hold of a set of aftermarket units but everytime I saw a good review for a reputable company selling headlights with inbuilt levelling motors I found more reviews saying you will get issues with these failing to work or misting if you live in a country with ever changing weather patterns (I come from Scotland so this is a big concern!)

Iv now decided to try and get a hold of OEM lights for mine as I just cant make my mind up if its worth it buying aftermarket. I dont want to be replacing them every year or so especially as it involves removing the bumber etc.

I would avoid Chinese companies as I had a lot of disputes with one in particular called CarGym.com The seller Ronna Ma was avoiding my emails when I asked for a refund after I paid extra for a 3-6 business day delivery & he told me they wouldnt be available for 3-4 weeks. I ended up getting PayPal involved who got me the cash back. :headbang:

Seemed to me all the American companies only sold Angel Eye units wityh no motors builts in too and being LHD they wouldnot pass an MOT on my UK spec Z4.

It was all a bit of a headache to me personally so I gave in, but goodluck if you do manage to find a pair :thumbsup:

So, these are not a great idea if you don't live in sunny California. I guess they won't work too well for Iceland then - fogged up headlights are a real pain.

But we drive on the right side of the road over here, so they should at least pass inspection.

Anyways, could anybody recommend an online store where it is possible to buy genuine headlights? Thanks!
 
Well I'm in rainy Wales and have no issues since I added silicone to the backs. Bumper removal takes 5 min tops once you've done it a few times.
 
I sent an e-mail to umnitza asking about these headlights. I asked if they were prone to fogging up and this was the response:

The lights are very good quality actually, they are a more recent mold that
has higher quality plastics and materials.

They also come with a 1 year warranty.

Do you have any photos of the silicon mod?
