Projector headlights

Hi all,
Just got a 2004 3.0 E85 Roadster that needs some work to get it back on the road.
I thought I'd just need to replace just the drivers headlight (smashed) as one of the ongoing repairs but on closer inspection I see they are Xenon not standard (I presume not a factory fitted option) so I'll have to replace both.
Anyone have experience of these:

Quality? Easy to fit? Keeps the functionality of standard lights? etc.

The reason I thought aftermarket is no headlight washers, I thought factory fitted had to have them. Is there a way to tell just by looking?
Those projectors on ebay can't be fitted apparently if you've got the factory Xenons.
Been looking at breakers/second hand parts and can't find a replacement anywhere so this looks to be turning into a right pita.

If factory fit your right should have washes, also on light selector switch there is no headlamp adjustment with factory xenon as it's self leveling

I have no headlamp adjuster.
I just checked on bmwvin.com (which I've only just found existed) and under Vehicle options it has Xenon Light so I can assume they are factory fitted, it also has Headlight cleaning system which tells me the the front bumper has been replaced, so the car has probably been in some sort accident at some point.
It also says M Sports suspension, good or bad thing?

M sport suspension means it sits slightly lower 15mm iirc, an larger anti roll bars , as you say must have had a front bumper at some point , as a note it's a MOT failure to have xenon lights without the washer system , but that's if they notice

Your entering the world of pain. A new pair of silver inner xenons will be half the price you likely paid, so not reasonable
You could buy a second hand halogen and replace the lens with some careful cutting or reshell in total with a few mods
Your bumper can be converted to washers as the cut lines and mountings are built in. You’ll likely still have the hoses, pumps and washer in situ

These are xenon replacements, not halogen apparently..
