Hey guys so I removed the dreaded roof motor, pics below, decided to not go with a new one it's beyond saving and manually doing it doesn't bother me, next project is going to be painting the alloy wheels and calipers. Black wheels red calipers, the nuts are really tight though any tips on removing them?

Is that phoenix? Seen plenty of coupes but don't think I've seen a roadster before!

Enjoy zedding!

Hi, you’d be surprised what can be revived-submerge it in some diesel for a week and try it on a battery.

Nice job. Pretty colour on an E85 too.

oh and good luck getting your nuts off. :exitright:

A long 1/2” breaker bar should make light work of the wheel bolts, you could always put a pipe / pole over it for more leverage

And a tight fitting socket

Sure is as I understand it it's a rare enough colour to come by

Lovely colour motor.

Not sure on your plan to do the wheels black though, I think you lose the styling/detail of the wheels when black.

Lovely colour on any Z4, but I'd agree with what saj77 just said - doing wheels black they just lose definition.

Good luck with the roof motor and the nuts.

Update, went to halfords bought a 17mm socket and breaker bar, broke the bar 😂 back to the garage to get an impact gun, they never torque anything properly
