Project Spa - baton passed on. Keep reading

I’m really surprised yours haven’t scrubbed. Mine caught under fast cornering and compression over bumps.
I must drive a bit more enthusiastically.

Really grateful for everyone’s feedback and support on this. Being a complete numpty and trusting what the vendor tells me was potentially a bit of an issue - I would probably choose a less aggressive set up if I did it again. I think I have managed to get away with it though which is a relief!

Well I'm glad it worked out OK.

They look great so it's not hard to see why so many Z4 owners fit them.

I am 6’2” and 96kg so I lose that one!

You did work hard to keep it within budget, Martin. And did a fantastic job! On the one hand it is frustrating my team mates have ignored the budget; on the other hand it allows me to get other things done without feeling guilty. Timing next to hopefully cure the VANOS code thingy, if I can find someone to help with it

Agreed. They do look amazing!

Another 92 miles done today through the Wiltshire and Somerset countryside and still no issues with the wheels. Phew! I have only driven solo though - I need to try again with a passenger and luggage to give it a proper simulation of my Spa trip.

I love this car and the new fat tyres are giving me some serious grip - great fun!

It is the little things…

Looking good wayo.
You may as well just keep it. Great cars to sit on for a bit of fun.
What mod are you buying next? :D

Thanks j3nks79!

I am thinking of keeping it as it is great fun, and the first time I have ever lifted a finger on a car. Not sure about next mod - any suggestions?

Timing fixed to get the VANOS error code sorted is top of the list

As soon as I’m back in the garage I’ll have a look for the cam locking tool for you mate. I’ve not forgotten just not been in

The car is still running sweet as a nut though, Martin. Just annoying!

Thanks J3nks79! - i wouldn’t know what to do with it anyway! A job for after the trip, if we survive and I can find someone to help me…

Any other advice on things to do before we set off? Martin has done everything I can think of, plus I have bought the usual stuff to take (lots of oil, bulbs, fuses, tyre weld, etc). Got the Euro kit, UK number plates on their way, YouTube video ready to help me adjust the headlights…
