They usually don't work if they are not connected. :D Just find bluemusic in da list.

Hope this helps.

Janis.
Hi mate. Somehow the connector had come out of the bluemusic dongle. Plugged it back in and all good again.
Thanks for getting back to me about it.
Loving the view from your 'office' btw.

As this is an N52 has the water pump been changed?

It might be in the thread somewhere but don’t have time to trawl back through it all… sorry.

No it hasn't tbh.
I believe it is on its second one, but not entirely sure when it was changed.
Given the budget cap I didn't actually suggest it but I will check with the owner now to be sure.

Not replaced by me and I don't have any records if it has been replaced. 50/50 chance.

That's what I thought. It's not the original, I can see that, but who knows if it is the second or third.
I'm pricing up a replacement now just in case.

[ref]True-Blue[/ref], thanks for the timely reminder. It was an early check when I got the car and I noted it was a replacement but completely forgot to check back at the time and see if there were any records of when. Schoolboy error.

On the plus side, I can source Pierburg pump, Mahle thermostat, replacement mounting bolts and coolant for a total of £280 and shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to do the work.
Car isn't being delivered until next Wednesday so all should be good.

The parts come from Germany (eBay), but as it happens I received a set only yesterday, ready for another customer. As he isn't coming up until June I am using that kit and just ordered another.

It has taken Mark over budget, but not as far over budget as he would be if it let go on the autobahn!

And here's another, possibly daft, thought. If I can see a build date on the fitted pump I can x-refer it to the MOT history. If the miles are low I'll leave it and the replacement can go into stock.

Thanks for the prompt, True-Blue, and for sorting, Martin. Rather have peace of mind than need a tow off the Nurburgring!

Oh you're doing the Nurburgring? For some reason I thought you were going round the Spa circuit.
OK, so maybe some spare brake pads??
Probably also wise to take spare pants.

A lap or 2 of the Nurburgring en route to Spa to watch the F1. Spare pants included
Your car does have almost new pads all round so you should be fine. Have to ask [ref]bigwinn[/ref] about the other one.
Photos will be mandatory of course.

We have go pro thingies so will be recording the laps, plus the rest of the trip. One of my fellow trippers is collating footage from all 3 cameras into 1 film - should be something nice to look back on

Not too many shots of the 'Cheat XK' please. :poke:

Edit: Mount the go-pros facing forward and hopefully it'll never be in shot.

You will see it on the grass verge at some point, if it does indeed come. 50/50 at the moment, so may well be back on here for your ‘new’ 2.5 or Paddy’s project!

Was this a kit or did you buy separate parts? I'm not sure if my pump has ever been done, and with 119k miles, it's something I mean to look into.
If you have a link, it would be appreciated as I may pick up the pieces and add to the "to do" list......

I’m currently on my way back from Liverpool. Can’t seem to sort the link for you but if you search for N52 water pump you should see the kit. Blue boxes with the three bolts arranged in front. £255.44.
