Dont fall foul of the construction and use regulations:-

4.2.4. Position 4.2.4.1. Width:

The edge of the illuminating surface which is farthest from the vehicle's median longitudinal plane must be not more than 400 mm from the extreme outer edge of the vehicle.

The inner edges of the illuminating surfaces must be not less than 600 mm apart.

Already covered my ass on that one. The illuminated surface to the most outer edge of the wing is 388mm... Going to have to get that in writing for when I evidently get pulled by the fezz for... driving a tank?

A more pressing issue is integrating side indicators into the wing mirrors with aftermarket units... I don't know a decent enough automotive electrician ;)

Do you need side repeaters?

Legally ?

Vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must be fitted with one side repeater indicator on each side. Instead of a separate lamp, the side repeater might be part of the front direction indicator if it includes a wraparound lens.

I will be hoping to wire completely new alternately styled carbon fiber wing mirrors using aftermarket z4 friendly base plates... the new mirrors i'm interested in feature Heated, Electric and indicator functionality, genuine CF. 4 pin so should be a bit of soldering work but work fine.

Yea...

You might even get away with indicator in the headlight as it does "wraparound"...

But,the wiring should be easy enough to run for your mirror indicators...

could be wrong but i dont think the side of the hockey stick illuminates on european models only the two lower bulbs

Brad
If you open the door hinge connector you can add extra male/female pins and thus run a feed from your old side repeaters to the door. Pick up an earth inside the door.

BMW sell the pins with pigtail wires.

Did this to run door and puddle illumination to my doors.

I like them...They are different without being cheesy..

Especially like the LED DRL's in the shape of a chandelier  ..

I cannot believe people are still asking the same questions regarding these replacement lights/HALOS/Xenons, etc.

I've answered these all a million times in earlier posts...

Long story short.

These headlights are the following:

100% FULLY WORKING OEM XENON direct REPLACEMENTS (for models that came WITH XENONS AS STANDARD such as the 'SE'), with BLACKED OUT SURROUNDINGS, HALOS (WHICH ARE WIRED INTO THE SIDE LIGHTS YOURSELF)

They are from a USA supplier and come configured for LHD vehicles... BUT have 4 adjustment screws located on the back of the units which alter independently both beams UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT. So with a little bit of patience can be made the suit RHD cars no problem (I'll post proof of beam if necessary).

Cost was cheap... but you will have to pay for customs and VAT.

Delivery time took 5 weeks!!!!!!! :headbang:

You're f**ked if you try to order lights from 2xcite... especially if yours came out the factory with xenons... just trust me on this one. They won't work they are only for z4's that didn't come with xenons as standard, The waiting list is into next year too.

Supplier is Evolution Autoparts in California.
