Are Nuke and El Taco the same person?? :o

Well tbh Nuke is right in some ways She is behaving unusually and you are responding. Not everyone's finest hour I guess

Will be using this patio for some fixed all weather furniture and a BBQ/Grill area! :D

Hi Brad, you need some of my Thomas Sanderson Blinds in your new house! :D

Right, back on track and a much needed update for everyone seeing as there seems to be a lot of unanswered questions...

1) When will it be painted? - The car has been driven quite a fair bit since it rolled out in Halfords white a few months ago, this was mainly due to the fact that I needed to be 100% sure that she could handle all road conditions and body stresses due to such a unique body shape. There have been a few cracks occur (nothing major) which will need to be looked at to see if they pose a threat of being a re-occuring issue otherwise im going to sink £XGrand into a paintjob only to see a large crack appear after a few hundred miles

I will paint her when I am satisfied that the car is as structurally sound as possible and all potential body imperfections have been rectified.

2) What colour will it be? - I haven't got a clue... I see blues, reds, blacks, yellows, greens and loads of other colours driving around and then decided there and then I want it to be that colour and that's my final choice, only to drive another 50m down the road and change my mind. It needs to be an outlandish colour, something that compliments the bizarre nature of the car itself. But it needs to be a light colour otherwise the various lines and contours of the car won't show up as well.

3) What's left do do? - Aero parts... LOTS OF aero parts... I have a giant front splitter, carbon canards, giant time attack chassis mounted rear wing ironing board to install and then I am lowering the front by another 30mm to sit the car at it's optimal road height without being a 4x4 at the front (which it currently is at present). After all of this is done, and it's all fitted, working and looking the beans... I will give her a complete once over, bake the car to remove all moisture and paint her and she will be DONE!

I'm sorry there seems to be very little progress happening but i'm sure anyone who has just moved house will understand how financially draining it can be. I have put Marmite on the sidelines for the last 2 months while this has been happening and aim to put her back on my to do list at the beginning of next month.

Giant time attack chassis mounted rear wing ironing board...so is this the one I spent money on and got you? or a complete new one you've ordered because the big ass one you wanted is still in my garage!! Just want to clarify

This has to be the most sensible thing that El Taco has ever said, I suppose there has to be a first time at some point

Chump

You are a self selecting group aren't you?

Having spent an hours lunch flicking through the pages of this build, here is my view.

Congratulations on all the time and effort that has gone into it, its good to see people doing something different and i would hate to think of the man hours this has consumed so far

Its not really my thing, but then you know its not going to be to everyone's taste and i applaud you for going ahead regardless.

I would say my main concern is the way the front end looks. It doesn't look as good as the rear and by removing the kidney grill and going with one big hole it kind of loses the cars identity.

However as said i applaud your efforts, absolute top work.

Thanks a lot! Appreciate your honesty and feedback. I don't mind people not liking the car, it's still not finished so all I ask is people reserve their final judgement until it's painted and got all it's lovely aero bits and pieces installed... plus the damn thing is still too high... needs to come down by 30mm at the front at least!

For the bonnet i assume you are leaving it black in the photoshops as it is carbon?

I have seen it in the past where a painter mixes paint and lacquer so the paint becomes translucent and you can still see the carbon weave, yet from a few foot away it looks to be colour coded.

Just a bit of food for thought
