So is the car gonna be white Brad?

If so,you should have just painted it in base white primer to check lines, contours and shadows...

Havent you made a lot of work for yourself by applying all that sh!te dulux paint on,as surely it all has to come off again..?

Project marinate thread living up to its name......
Like what is being attempted/looking forward to seeing the final result? = Arselicker! :kissass:
Think it's not going to be any good? = why not get all keyboard warrior. :stir:

Brad, at the end of this, I hope you're happy with the work you put in and the result you get. All the rest is opinion,
There are all sorts of people in here from drive it twice a year 'investors' to cheap fun daily snotter runabouters.
Uber modders to people who will only put BMW washer fluid in.

I am curious as to how it turns out, I generally like wide and low...but I'm not waiting on your every post to tell you how ace it is or tell you you're doing it all wrong. It's your car and your project. Don't sweat about explaining it too much if it means it's taking more time to do the car!
Bon voyage.

I saw the posts and tbh I can see their point of view but didn't post myself because I didn't agree. I'm a sad that this project is taking longer than planned but that is only because I am stupidly excited to see this.

I honestly couldn't give 2 hoops about the £10, I donate god knows how much per year to good causes and don't expect to see a defined result straight away.

However, HURRY UP! I've just sold my Z4 and need to see this to help with the subsequent depression! ha ha! :D

Sorry to hear you sold your Z. I will do my best for you buddy! :D

Right now, i've got more dashboard lights coming on than a christmas tree with about every single sensor in the car telling me something is wrong. :P haha, don't think the car likes what's being done to it.

I was thinking it would give the inside of the car more style with some extra gauges maybe piler type gauges on the collum:D

A POST TO CLEAR A FEW THINGS UP

Hi all,

Thanks for the stream of comments that have taken place over the last 48 hours, I've only really just now logged in to read them all and catch up with you all and I feel a lengthy post is required to explain and maybe clear up some of the misconceptions that are spreading regarding the 'paint work'.

Firstly let me clarify that this is NOT the 'finished' paintwork. I can't believe some people think that this one day spray job is regarded as the final thing.

Spray jobs... (good ones) cost upwards of £2,000-£3,000 depending on the finishing work that's required. I do not have the capital (at least not for a few weeks) to be able to make an outright payment of that kind of money for a spray job and I am still in the final decision process of who is going to be the team to finish her off.

I've seen a few posts about how people are 'cheated' by me? i'm not going to lie that's extremely hurtful. I did not ask for the break in to happen and neither did I come crying to you for donations to the project. The fact that people did make contributions to the build brought me to tears and was one of kindest things a community of people have done for me and I can never really thank you all enough. I posted around page 16-17 of this thread the total cost of losses for the theft which total exceeded more than the money that was raised by the forum so I was still horrendously out of pocket.

The donations never sat in my account for more than 2-3 days and were used instantly to snap up the alloys you now see and help towards a new set of coilovers.

There is still a lot that needs to be done to this car and I will admit, it's draining and I don't often find the time to sit down and explain to you guys each and every minute detail that goes into getting the car to look how it is. I like to sit down at my laptop upload a few pictures for you all and crack on with my day, I do however want to add a little more depth to the posts I do so I shall attempt to explain each picture in more detail from now on if that will mean a lot to you guys.

To summarize, this paint job is what I would call a 'protective layer' to show what the car might look like in WHITE because I wanted to make sure that I was choosing the right colour, this white paint cost me £20 from the back of a truck lol.... and only took us a few days to apply in a damp, cold, environment.... hardly the conditions required for a thorough finish worthy of a show car. This means that The bodywork is protected and cannot be ruined by weather and what not in the weeks that I save up for another big financial outlay to get the car 100% finished.

Hope everyone is happy with my reply.

£1k donated to be spunked on alloys and coil overs that you've now over sprayed on?

Pains me to say it but you are the smartest person on this site

By far

El Taco its a real pity you haven't got anything positive to say about anything. Personally I think it is a great project and will reserve judgement until I see the FINAL RESULT!

Good work so far Brad
