Back in an E89, my eighth Zed

Picked up a Deep sea Blue, with contrasting beige/crème leather with 3 litre 6 pot and many toys including Idrive etc.

It’s has been very well maintained mechanically, but the paintwork needs some love… my kind of thing.

Needs rid of the runflats, I’ll probably go with new wheels and tires. Needs the drivers seat bolster re-dying, although it is literally the colour worn away, no cracks or anything nasty.

I always wanted a Monaco blue E85 3.0Si and could never find one, I think I actually prefer this colour to Monaco

Nice one Martin. Glad you got one.
Maybe we can talk again in a few months when you've detailed the heck out of it and time for number 9! :D :poke:

Congratulations Martin, looks lovely and will look even better when you’ve finished working your magic on it, enjoy

Thanks gents,

Just sent the Mrs out in it, she is very happy. She finds it much easier and more enjoyable to drive than the E85.

It definitely needs fettling, seen too many ‘chain gang’ manual car washes.

I’m itching to start, but far too tired after a hectic weekend of car shopping

Deep Sea Blue with a Cream interior is a great combination and 30is seem pretty rare, so congratulations on your new purchase.

Maybe this one will stay a while! After all a happy wife means a happy life.

No chance, GWEST / POND and TB are in a completion as to who can buy and sell the most cars in 12 months

I’ve said I was going to keep the last few, especially the last one!

So I’ll make no statement of such intent with this one and we’ll see what happens

All I will say is, I’ve always wanted a Dark Blue Zed, this is a fab colour combo… and SWMBO loves it.

My old DSB after a couple of days of paint correction.

Looks great, that’s where I’m heading

I also need to get to grips with what works and what doesn’t wheel wise. Had 437M’s on my last E89, not sure if I want to do the same again this time.

Well, too tired tonight to do much, but I’ve given it a wash and picked a particularly bad patch to do a little test. This isn’t finished, so photo 2 is just after an initial cut with a hard cutting pad. This car is going to take me many hours to sort out…

Looks like it’s been washed at the supermarket a few to many times, I’m sure it can be rescued though 8)

Do we do this in hours / days / weeks not certain months will be applicable

2 weeks, a bit at a time…. I have too many other things going on, and doing more than a couple of hours at a time takes all the fun out of it for me.
