Looking forward to following the Ed Thread when the project car is sourced! :thumbsup:

Anyone looking for a middle aged apprentice, I could do with learning more about the Z4 my self?! :rofl:

Chris Dover based in Essex. MOT but the head gasket has just went 🤷‍♂️

Don't mind changing it, but why did it fail, what else has it caused etc?

Brian, not being quite up on fb, apart from looking at marketplace, how do I find this chap?

Wonder if it’s been properly assessed/diagnosed? Expansion tank possibly?

At the top of your FB page there should be a search bar. Type in his name. There will be many Chris Dovers :(

I was trying to find the correct group as there are so many. I was stuck out in the wilds with the dogs when Stuart found it, so he had a word for me. Tbh, it sounds as though it could be something more, possibly warped or cracked head as it was allowed to run very hot.
Not beyond me, but you start getting into timing rigging, maybe do the chain while you're in there, not the lightest thing to lift out of the engine bay, etc.
I think it has potential.................. but it also has potential to escalate and I would prefer something simpler for Ed's first foray into this. Nothing achieved if he can't do stuff himself.
