Project ‘Bertie’....

True-Blue

Veteran
 Bristol/Bath
Previous owner had the car since 2013 and although I don’t normally name my cars, she called ‘him’ Bertie.

Anyway, after viewing 8 coupe’s in the last 10 days or so, I decided ‘Bertie’ was the one!

Spent 3 hours on the train to pick it up, then 3 hours driving home.

Stopped for a quick break on the way home

Welcome to Montego Blue Coupe ownership.

Bertie looks great - but then I would say that!

Thanks Gents,

Has a few little car park dings in the arches, so that’s high on the list for sorting out.

Also needs to come off run flats ASAP, but I might change the wheels too, so may sell the freshly powder coated wheels and tires complete. Not sure yet.

Once I’ve got the ‘dinks’ sorted I’ll be correcting the paintwork.... hard-work, but worth it

Bertie looks lovely, OP! I'm quite biased though :P

I don't like MV2s on Z4s, they're far too common in the BMW line up of that generation.

Glad you got one you are happy with Martin. Glad everything worked out well in the end. That looks like a nice garage at the new place.
Maybe you will buy my M when I sell it!

Thank you,

Still regret your Pheonix one, but it was just a nightmare at the time. Didn’t get to move in until 30th May in the end!

New garage is deep and wide enough to get trolley jack, axle stands etc in and still have sufficient space to work on the car. All I’m likely to do for now though is have the ‘dinks’ Sorted and swap the wheels and tyres.

I’ll probably do Bilstein & Eibach at some point, when they’ve block paved my road!... currently a lowered Z4 will ground 😱

I’d love an MC but finances need to recover a bit after house move 🤣

Bertie has an appointment on Friday....

A highly qualified professional is coming to attend to his little car park dinks.

This guy has loads of people raving about his work on Pistonheads and was very professional on the phone.

I’m looking forward to straight, sharp wheels arches.

I’ll update with photo’s once done.

I’ve posted a separate thread, so it doesn’t get lost here, but the car now has zero dings...

Steve Cusmans of DENTPUSHER has done an amazing job this morning.... absolutely delighted with the outcome.

I know I said I’d put up photo’s but seems a bit silly now, as there’s literally nothing to photograph!

The change of environment, from being kept outside to being garaged, seems to have taken it’s toll on my passenger side headlight washer, which is now leaking. But this is a minor annoyance and will be sorted ASAP

Still to be done;

Full paint correction, which I’ll do myself over a period of time, to bring the paint back to swirl free beauty.

Lose the runflats and probably change the wheels, can’t decide what I want though - don’t want to turn into a serial wheel swapper... mentioning no names

Revive the shocks & possibly move to Eibach Pro springs.

Not a big project by any means... but enough to keep me busy :D

Change of owner and leaky headlight washers is surprisingly common! Same happened here. Nice to repair - you get to explore bits and clean them up a bit.

Started work on the paintwork, will be doing little and often.....
