Project 2006 Z4 - restoration (Enjoy!)

My tool kit is complete apart from the fuses and locking nut key, but my car doesn't have looking wheel nuts, so there's the reason.

The most useful thing that should be in the tool kit is an alignment tool for the wheels. I hate trying to line the damn wheels up with the holes to get the lug/bolt to screw in. If a Merc SLK comes with one surely BMW could have stretched to one? I'll have to see if I can pick one up from an auto parts shop.
On another note, andy, does your Z4 have the emergency triangle in the blue plastic box (in the boot)?

Hi enzed4.
I have seen the blue plastic box but not checked whats inside it!!! Feels heavy...if you know what I mean!

A collapsible emergency triangle....
While we're playing spot the accessory, have you had a peek under the seats for the first aid kit in the storage box?

It was an option, so may not have been specced when your car was new. They can be had second hand I believe.

Some folk stick one under the drivers seat too.

No insulation in the boot lid

But it is missing these:

So you can fit this in the boot:

But only if it has the fitted wind deflector between the roll hoops.

Doesn't look like it has the fittings on the original pics of the car.

Very good point - didn't spot that

My car has the OEM wind deflector but not the boot lid mounts?
I bought mine from ECS tuning because I had a replacement soft top motor and insulation coming from them at the same time, so no difference in shipping. The damn things kept falling out until I was told you really have to push them in firmly to fit them correctly, and now they're spot on. Don't use them much but I just wanted the option available if I needed it.

Thing is I'm not sure I'd use em much either - I never take the wind deflector off. Some say the mesh restricts rear visibility in the winter but can't say I've noticed.
