Programming spare key

The spare key to my '03 Z4 has run out of charge. I've started using the key again to charge up the battery but it's lost its memory. Is there an easy way to reprogramme it so that it opperates the central locking and alarm again? I know I can take it into BMW but just wondered if there was a sequence of pressing buttons on the key that would activate it again?
