Programming/Side markers etc...

I know this can be done by going to BMW, or if i've got the BMW programming kit.
BMW are most probably extremely reluctant to do this so was wondering if anyone on here can do it at all? There's a bunch of stuff i'd like done this way;

Headlight turn on briefly when locked,
Horn to blip when locked,
Indicators to be on (not bright) all the time,

There's a few other cool mod's i'd like to do, but without knowing the full extent of what can be done i'm unsure.
Please let me know if you can do this, it would be even more helpful if you're local to Peterborough, Cmbridgeshire?

Thanks
Nico

Didn't know the indicators can be programmed as running lights (without a physical module), would like more info on this please!

I think you're asking for a pull off the flatties if you drive around with your indicators on permanently. :o

Anyone else that can actually answer my question. I really want dim indicators on the front of my e85. On all the time. How can this be done please?

Yeah kind of, I just want my indicators to act as side markers and stay on but not massively bright. But then flash brightly when indicating and off again.

I'm not sure that's legal anyway and would be asking for Plod to give you a pull all the time, and not sure it can even be done with the existing LCM in the car. You can code daytime running lamps iirc, so technically you can have some form of light on all the time, but the way you are proposing isn't going to work as far as I can see.

Using NCS Expert you can code the alarm chirp no problem, for the other two I don't remember seeing them as options on any of the modules. There's a list of available coding options on this forum somewhere...

Bmw 5 series has the side markers.
Fit led sidelights and it will give your bulb errors but you will get a similar desired effect. I had mine like that for quite a while. Loved it

Beetlegav, I've fitted LED sidelights before and this didn't happen, and when i turned my car off, the LED lights till had a small amount of power going to them and used to stay on!! Hated that haha, how did you get around it? What LED sidelights did you use? I know, the 5 series has it and I am so jealous everytime i see one!!

Cheers guys!
Nico

I used some Cree ones which were supposed to be canbus. But they weren't so caused errors. Mine useto stay on for a bit afterwards aswel, I've since removed them because one died and I was fed up with them. Gone back to a filament bulb but it's a blue tinted one so it gives off a white ish light.

Not sure how long. They slowly fade then go off. They would hold a charge somehow.
I had some cheaper LEDs for a little while. They started to stay on when they started to die

OT [ish]

I had a 1986 E30 M3 which had dip/dim, since then it was not on any of my later BMW's. How easy it to add to my Z4? :?

Ta.
