Programming remote seats...

Hi all,

I have a 53 plate 3.0 E85.

I have memory seats but can anyone enlighten me to whether the keys can be programmed individualy to set the seat positioning.
My partner now uses the car as much as me as I stupidly gave her a drive in it a few weeks ago. As she is a bit smaller than me... It takes me ages to reposition to my normal position.
It's going into the dealers in two weeks and I was going to get them to do it when it's in.

At the risk of asking the obvious, don't your memory seats have numbers , one for each driver? Mine has three (which is a bit of a waste as there's only 2 drivers on my Zed!). :P
 
As above, but yes you can code them to the keys do they move depending on which key is used to unlock the car.

I do use the buttons... It was just to make it that bit easier as my garage is very tight, and my partner hits every button but the right one.

In my experience if you let your partner be number "1" and you take number "2" your problem will be solved :thumbsup:

That's exactly as mine is set up. Myself and wife have our own keys and once you programme the seat to the chosen position, it will move to that position once you unlock the car with the remote. You also need the dealer (or indy) to set 'selective central locking'.

While doing that there are dozens of other options they can set for you, some for the car and some for each key
 
See how much they want for it. If it's more than £25 then get a cable and DIY, plenty of other options to explore once you have your own lead.

Are they quite easy to program with the cable... Or do I need a degree in astro physics!!! :wink:

Comes with software which installed no problem for me. Plug in and go with the car. SSS is radio button based, a little clunky but it does the job. I've not been able to get it to work on Windows 8.1 though, was fine on Win 7.
