At least the Wifi function is only temporarily deleted, I'm not sure I could cope without Carplay

Why does anyone need more than Radio 5 and Radio 5 Sports Extra

Production date given as 7th March...Ordered in August but the factory only accepted my order early January.
BMW Genius cant give me any details on deletion but salesman has said wireless charging and touch screen. I can live with that but Apple Play deletion will be a pain!

I think Apple Carplay will still work as long as your phone is plugged in (which as there is no wireless charging it probably will be!).

Trying to figure why yours is going to be a couple of months later than mine when it was ordered earlier - possibly the Frozen Grey paintwork takes longer to schedule in?

Not sure...my dealer is not a big one, order number given end of September. On line with Genius a few times and they said order number not confirmed for a good few weeks, eventually got message from dealer in Oct, will not get a date until Jan. I am in no rush, fortunately, I am getting a tad excited though...

Sars - Thanks...I can do with out charging, portable charger in the hidden in the car not too sad...Apple Car play though :x

Been stuck on Status 182 (Released to Carrier) for the last 8 days - anyone have an insight as to how long this step in the process normally takes?

sars thanks, sounds like original delivery date of 14th feb will slip then - I must learn to be more patient (he says after pinging the Genius team for an update for the second time today!)

[ref]blaster1956[/ref], think you may find that it arrives sooner than you think.

Is it still on the same code “released to carrier?”

I’d ask the genius every day for code updates. Funnily enough my dealer had access to the older systems and had more up to date codes.

Yes still showing as Released to Carrier - both dealer and Genius giving me the same status. As long as it’s here for beginning of March I’ll be happy tbh!

Called in at my Dealer today for a chat with the Salesman (and to have a look at the order screen in the flesh so to speak); I had a few questions for him as follows:-

1. Order status: still at 182 and still due in with them week 7 (w/b 14/02/2022) so handover some time after that
2. Handbook paper or digital: both, a printed one is supplied
3. Price fixed as at order date with no increase: yes
4. Finance agreement as at order date: yes and still at 2.9%
5. Missing options: he seemed unsure of this and wasn't convinced by my VIN decode (see earlier post), confirming £500 rebate if no touchscreen
6. Insurance: told that they don't need to see a cover note so I could, in theory, drive it away uninsured; pretty sure you used to have proof of insurance for initial registration, maybe things are different now but it seems odd not to enforce this on a new car

So all looking good apart from my impatience to get my mitts on it!

Exactly the same as mine Peter - roll on the 14th!!

Correction, mine now at Status 9000 - so on the way from factory to Port of Exit according to Genius team. They have however pushed delivery date back a week, now showing sometime w/b 21st Feb.

That happened to me with the date being pushed back, but it arrived earlier.
Not long to wait now!

[ref]sars[/ref], why I keep feeling the cerium grey on your car is more vivid than on my car? Mine looks dull and indeed grey instead of gold-ish :tumbleweed:

I think it’s the light, however that photo shows the Red off really well, but not the wheels. I’m absolutely in love with the colour of my winter wheels though
