Problems with lowering and adding spacers

T2FFN why are you going narrower on the rear out of interest?

As per my previous comments that the 255 looks bulbous and hangs past the rim. I prefer the look of the fronts, with a neater fitting tyre.

Really? Mine look the same front and rear (tyre rubber appears slightly stretched and angled inwards away from rim slightly) and I prefer/want a bit of a bulbous spread beyond the rim! I think different makes of tyre must have different shapes once fitted to a rim. Interesting how preferences vary regarding how things look too! I'll just have to live with mine as I do 3 to 4k miles a year and my tyres have only been on a year so far.

Yup defo a good lot of info for me to make a decssion.

Prob will go with spacers 10 front and 15 rear.

With tyres I am goin to go for 225 40 on 8.5j first and if I really don't like it then I will swap it over when I am
Getting the fronts don't. As I am gonna spread the cost of new tyres onto my refurbed wheels over 2 months.

Any advice on the suspension now?

If you lower it you'll need to get a full alignment done afterwards. Other than that, if you are fearless where speedbumps are concerned and will only ever reverse your car into a parking space then go for it

Suspension will be fine... Cheaper and more durable to go with eibachs instead of oem m sport springs.

Thanks

Even revering today I noticed the back just a cm from he kerb.

That's the thing tho I have the se which is higher than sport model. What is the difference in suspension between se and sport is it just springs? Is it possible to lower an se to a sport ride height.

You really need to use the search and do some reading before asking every question. This stuff has been covered hundreds of times.

Sport sits 15 mm lower than the se. Eibach sits 30mm lower, however i think they have been discontinoued for the 2.0i.

I have had a look but can't figure out if I can lower an se to the heigh of a sport. I think the eibach wud lower to much. Is it not 30mm from sport height so 40mm lower on se? Fk springs do they lower by 10 or 40? Can I just buy BMW sport springs?

Ok so I think I need to get some Sport springs to lower buy 15.

Anyone got a set or just bet to try scrap yard or eBay

Are the sport springs from a 3.0si the same?

I have 2 fronts and 1 rear left.

Am not sure I think I read they might fit.

That could be a possibility if I can get some with a rear.

Or other choice is tein s tech springs but from what I have read they dont seem to be the best
